PCF Church is a family of believers committed to making the Christian journey together. We desire to develop a Christ-centered life of worship to God as we:
GATHER together,
GROW in spiritual maturity, and
GO and serve.
STATEMENTS OF FAITH AND PRACTICE
A) The Praise Christian Fellowship Statement of Faith
1. We believe the Holy Bible to be the inspired, only infallible authoritative Word of God.
2. We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father , Son, and Holy Spirit.
3. We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious death, in his bodily resurrection, in his ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in glory at the close of the ages.
4. We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful men, repentance and regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.
5. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life marked by anointing and diverse gifts.
6. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; of them that are saved unto the resurrection of eternal life, and of them that are lost unto the resurrection of eternal judgment.
This Statement of Faith is the unchanging foundation for all of what we believe.
The following are Statements of Practice which establish doctrinal and ethical standing at PCF.
The intent is:
To apply our Statement of Faith to all aspects of a changing modern society,
To stablish and maintain values in accordance with God’s word,
To promote a growing personal obedient faith in each believer, and
To strive for spiritual unity and harmony among believers.
We believe that in order to preserve the function and integrity of PCF as a local Body of Christ, and to provide a Biblical role model and safe spiritual atmosphere for PCF congregants and the community, it is imperative that all persons employed by PCF in any capacity, and those who serve as volunteers, agree to and abide by these Statements of Belief and Practice. [Phil. 2: 14-16; 1 Thess. 5:22]
B) Statement of the Respect of Individuals
We believe that God offers redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sin, who seek the mercy and forgiveness which is made available through Jesus Christ. [Acts 3:19-21; Rom. 10:9-10; 1 Cor. 6: 9-11] We believe that every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity while they are on this salvation journey. [Mark 12: 28-31; Luke 6: 31] Hateful and harassing behavior, words, or attitudes directed toward any individual are to be considered unacceptable and are not in accord with Scripture nor the doctrines or practice of PCF.
C) Statement on the Sanctity of Human Life
We believe that all human life is sacred and created by God in His image. Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged, and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death. We are therefore called to value all human life. [Psalm 139]
D) Statement on Marriage, Gender, and Sexuality
We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female. These two distinct, complimentary genders together reflect the image and nature of God. [Gen. 1: 26-27] Rejection of one’s biological sex is a rejection of the image of God with which that person was conceived.
We believe that the term “marriage” has only one meaning: the uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture. [Gen. 2: 18-25] We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are married to each other. [1 Cor. 6:18; 7:2-5 Heb. 13:4] We believe that God has commanded that there should be no intimate sexual activity outside of a marriage between a man and woman.
We believe that all forms of sexual immorality (including, but not limited to, adultery, fornication, homosexual behavior, bisexual conduct, bestiality, incest, and the use of pornography) are sinful and offensive to God. [Matt. 15:18-20; 1 Cor. 6: 9-10]
E) Statement of Final Authority for Matters of Belief and Conduct
This Statement of Faith and Practice does not exhaust the extent of our faith, nor the kinds of issues that may arise. The Bible itself, is the inspired and infallible Word of God that speaks with final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind, and is the sole and final source for what we believe and practice. For purposes of ongoing faith, doctrine, practice, policy, and discipline, the Pastor/Eldership Team is the church’s appointed and recognized authority on the Bible’s meaning and application. When or if the Bible does not specifically speak to an issue, the Pastor and Elder Team reserve the right to interpret and determine the Scripture’s meaning as it applies to the governance of this church.
