4-Part Harmony in the Key of B is a very basic message that begins with a rather elaborate illustration.  A) 4 Part Harmony is a treasury within the realm of music, that is nearly lost in our current society.  It is the basis for the hymns of old, and unless you were raised in a traditional church, sang in a choir, or had formal musical instruction, you might not know much about it at all!  A singer would identify his/her range of voice, then sing the part that fit best: soprano, alto, tenor, and bass.  Songwriters through the centuries wrote masterpieces of musical score, and accomplished musicians and singers could perform them skillfully.  But in recent decades, the introduction of Rock & Roll, rap, hip hop, etc. has changed the musical landscape tremendously.  B) 1 Timothy 2: 1-4 gives 2 statements:  God want us to “live a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence” and “this is good and acceptable in the sight of God”.  So, this message, then, is this: C) 4 Parts to Blend into Harmony… all in the Key of B   1) BE Thankful.  2) BE Simple.  3) BE Content, and 4) BE Humble.  If we will live to cultivate these simple qualities, we will be much better able to blend with God’s will and plan… AND we just may be much happier.
