UPDATES AND PRAYER REQUESTS
The Committee is dedicated to keeping the family of PCF informed during this search process. Monthly updates will be posted along with specific prayer needs.
June 2026
UPDATE: As a continuation of our April Prayer and Seeking month, the Search Committee, along with the elders, met throughout May to process feedback from the congregation and from leadership, and discern the right next steps. We feel led to continue in this season of focused prayer, specifically asking God to make His Call on our new Pastor clear and apparent.
PRAYER PROMPT: Join the elders and search team throughout the month of June as we continue to pray for clarity regarding the call of our next lead pastor. We do not know if the next pastor is already near and known to us or if God will bring someone yet unknown, whether from nearby or from a distance. Ask God to prepare our hearts to walk forward as He brings clarity in this area.
May 2026...
UPDATE: Coming out of a month of prayer and seeking, the search team continues to wait on the Lord for direction regarding the next stage of this process. No determinative decisions have yet been made; however, the team is very conscious of the need to walk forward – even if “forward” actually means “wait”. On Tuesday, May 12 the team will meet with Pastor Steve to discuss the prayer and intercession times in the month of April.
PRAYER PROMPT: Pray for endurance as well as patience. The team desires to walk forward with diligence yet can only walk forward as the Lord gives direction. Continue to ask for clarity as we continue to seek the face of God and the hand of the Holy Spirit. Ask God to build camaraderie within the search team as each member serves as a vital part of the group. Continue to ask God to draw-in the appointed next pastor for PCF Church.
April 2026...
UPDATE: After doing much research and accumulating data from various sources, the committee has come to a crossroad requiring a decision for how this search will proceed. It is at this point that we feel a deep compulsion to join with the congregation in intentional prayer and seeking. Along with the leadership of the elder team, the search committee is asking that every member of PCF church join together during the month of April to specifically seek the Lord's direction for PCF. This call is both corporate and individual and will be an integral part of our Sunday services this month. As we seek the next lead servant (pastor) for PCF church, we also must submit our own hearts and lives to the Lord and individually ask "where do you have me to serve?".
Perhaps God may have an out-of-the-box option for PCF, or he may be raising up an individual who is already near to us. Let us SEEK FIRST the kingdom of God and His righteousness, acknowledge Him with our thoughts and plans, and trust Him fully. In submission to the Good Shepherd His sheep will be led.
PRAYER PROMPT: Allow the following statements/questions to shape your prayers and petitions during this month of corporate and individual seeking:
- I choose to set my eyes on You, Father, and to seek that which is in line with Your kingdom and purposes.
- I submit my own desires to You and ask for desires that align with Your heart.
- How do you have me to serve at PCF Church?
- How can we align our hearts (congregation, elders, search team) with Your will and walk in unity through the next stages of this process?
- Are we missing any vital steps that must be taken before moving forward?
- Are you already drawing the next pastor to us?...if he is near or adjacent to us, please clearly identify him.
March 2026...
UPDATE: Over the past month, the Search Team has prayerfully been researching and interviewing individuals and firms to determine the next best step in this process. Much attention has been placed on what it could look like to transition from a seasoned and well-trusted pastor to someone new. The Elders, Search members, and Pastor Steve and Nancy had the opportunity to meet with Roger North of North Group Consultants who generously volunteered his time to give much needed counsel. Special care is also being taken to look across the PCF Church structure to determine any adjustments that may be needed to make the forthcoming transition smooth and successful. While the beginning of the process felt like digging a hole for a foundation - essentially moving backwards in order to move forward - the team is finally preparing to make forward-moving decisions. However, before any steps are taken, a renewed emphasis on prayer, humility, and intentional listening for the Spirit's direction is needed from each member of the PCF leadership, Search Committee, and congregation. Only He knows the way in which we should walk.
PRAYER PROMPT: Ask the Lord for a heart of unity across the PCF body and an earnest desire to seek the Lord together as well as open hearts to hear and obey the call of God for each person. Pray for grace and strength for the Search Committee members and their families as this process is very involved and time-consuming.
February 2026...
UPDATE: The six members of the Lead Pastor Search Committee (Ryan Kistler, Barry Ansel, Robin Teitelbaum, Bill Higbee, Kordel Eberly, and Kina Summy) have been formally introduced to PCF family. Each member has committed to serving in this role through the year 2026. The team has already begun regular meetings to discuss best practices for moving forward with this search process. While no formal decisions have yet been made, the committee is working in conjunction with the PCF Elders as well as the Board of Directors. The team is very aware of the spiritual nature of this search and does not take lightly the mantle of responsibility placed upon them. Their priority, above all, is to seek the leading of the Holy Spirit throughout this process.
PRAYER PROMPT: Ask for wisdom and direction for both the Search Committee as well as the PCF Elders and Board of Directors as decisions and processes must be put in place now that will lay a groundwork for the whole process. Pray for healthy team interactions and trust amongst everyone involved in this process.
